Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Roomy does not require registration and does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number. We collect two categories of data: data that stays entirely on your device, and limited anonymous technical data sent to secure servers to support notifications and app stability.

Data that stays on your device only:

• Your photos and videos: Roomy accesses your gallery solely to display media so you can review and delete it. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, copied to a server, or shared. All processing happens locally.
• Cleaning data: Your swipe decisions, "decide later" items, session progress, and which groups you have reviewed — stored locally only.
• Duplicate-detection data: To find duplicate and similar photos, Roomy computes small image fingerprints (hashes) on your device. These fingerprints are stored locally and never leave your device.
• App preferences: Your chosen theme, deletion mode (trash or permanent), and settings — stored locally only.
• Statistics: Totals such as storage freed and files cleaned — stored locally only.

Anonymous technical data collected automatically (via Google Firebase):

• Push Notification Token (FCM Token): A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to deliver notifications to your device.
• Device Information: Device manufacturer, model, and Android OS version — used to maintain compatibility and diagnose issues.
• App Version: The version of Roomy you have installed.
• Crash and diagnostic data: Anonymous crash reports and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics.
• Usage data: Anonymous interaction statistics such as screen views and feature usage via Firebase Analytics.

2. Your Photos and Videos Never Leave Your Device

• Photo and video review works fully without an internet connection.
• When you delete media, Roomy uses Android's own system delete (move to Trash for 30 days, or permanent delete) — you confirm every deletion through Android's standard dialog.
• If you uninstall Roomy or clear its storage, all locally stored cleaning data, fingerprints, and preferences are permanently deleted from your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your media and cleaning data stay on your device and are used solely to power the app's features:

• Displaying your photos and videos so you can review them
• Grouping duplicates, similar photos, screenshots, and large videos
• Tracking your session progress so you can resume where you left off
• Showing statistics such as storage freed and files cleaned
• Applying your selected theme and preferences

The anonymous technical data collected via Firebase is used for:

• Delivering notifications to your device via Firebase Cloud Messaging
• Diagnosing crashes and improving stability via Firebase Crashlytics
• Understanding general, anonymous usage patterns via Firebase Analytics to improve the app
• Maintaining compatibility across devices and Android versions

We do not use your data for profiling, targeted advertising, or any purpose beyond running and improving Roomy.

4. Analytics and Crash Reporting

Roomy uses the following Google Firebase services:

• Firebase Crashlytics — Collects anonymous crash reports to help us find and fix bugs.
• Firebase Analytics — Collects anonymous usage statistics such as session duration, screen views, and feature interaction counts.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — Delivers notifications to your device.

This data does not include your photos, videos, file names, or any information that identifies you personally. It is used only to operate, stabilise, and improve the app. See Firebase's Privacy and Security information for details.

5. Notifications

Roomy may send you notifications (for example, reminders to clean up storage or product updates) using Firebase Cloud Messaging. A push token is generated and stored to deliver these. You can disable notifications at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Roomy → Notifications. This token is anonymous and not linked to your identity.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent user data. We share limited anonymous data only with the following Google services, strictly to operate the app:

• Firebase Crashlytics & Analytics — Receives anonymous crash reports and usage statistics.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — Receives your anonymous push token to deliver notifications.

Your photos, videos, and on-device cleaning data are never shared with any third party. This data is processed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

7. App Permissions

Roomy requests only the permissions it genuinely needs:

Roomy does not request broad file-management permissions such as MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE. Media access is used only to let you review and clean your own gallery.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data (cleaning data, fingerprints, preferences, statistics):

• Retained on your device for as long as you use the app.
• Permanently deleted when you uninstall Roomy or clear app data via Android Settings → Apps → Roomy → Storage → Clear data.
• We have no access to this data and cannot recover it once deleted.

Firebase data (push token, crash and usage data):

• Retained according to Firebase's default retention policies (typically about 2 months for Analytics and 90 days for Crashlytics).
• As this data is anonymous and not linked to your identity, it contains no personally identifiable information.
• To request deletion of any data associated with your installation, contact us (see Section 11).

9. Children's Privacy

Roomy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The technical data we collect is anonymous and not linked to any individual. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us at tendegree.dev@gmail.com and we will address it promptly.

10. Your Rights and Choices

• Access your media: All your photos and videos are visible directly within the app and your device gallery.
• Delete local data: Go to Android Settings → Apps → Roomy → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
• Disable notifications: Android Settings → Apps → Roomy → Notifications.
• Request data deletion: Email us (see Section 11) to request deletion of any installation-associated data from Firebase.
